Climate Change, Sustainability & ESG Literacy
At fhionQ, our goal is to grow a strong pool of climate- and ESG-literate talent across Africa and beyond, and to give people the confidence to take part in conversations, and decisions, about climate change and sustainability. The fhionQ Academy offers practical, beginner-friendly courses that explain these topics clearly and show how they apply in the real world.
We are launching with two 15-week online courses: Climate Change Literacy and Sustainability & ESG Literacy. You can take either course on its own, or enrol in the Climate Change, Sustainability and ESG Literacy Pathway, which runs both courses one after the other at a reduced fee. Both courses start in November 2026, and in each one, key concepts are brought to life through fhionQ's interactive learning tools and games.
Please note: The Sustainability & ESG Literacy course covers IFRS S2, the global standard for climate-related disclosures. Because IFRS S2 centres on how climate-related risks and opportunities affect organisations, a solid understanding of climate change makes it far easier to apply. If you are planning to take the Sustainability & ESG Literacy course, we recommend taking Climate Change Literacy as well, or enrolling in the pathway, which covers both.
Please note:
- The courses are designed for people who are completely new to the field. You do not need to be a climate scientist, ESG specialist or sustainability professional to participate.
- While fhionQ operates in Africa, these courses are open to anyone, anywhere in the world. Some of the regulations covered are Kenyan, but the concepts span the global landscape.
- To keep classes small and interactive, each course is limited to 30 participants per cohort. Places are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Some concepts are reinforced through fhionQ's learning tools and games, including scenarios that allow participants to explore climate risks, climate opportunities, catastrophe frameworks and climate scenarios.
- There will be a two-week Christmas break during the programme: 18th December 2026 – 5th January 2027. Classes resume on:
- Climate Change Literacy: 6th January 2027
- Sustainability & ESG Literacy: 7th January 2027
- Participants can pay their course fee in two installments. The first installment is due by 30th October 2026 at midnight, and the second installment by 29th November 2026 at midnight.
- A certificate will be presented at the end of each course.
- If you would like to enquire more about these courses, please email shel@fhionq.com with the subject line “[Course Title] - Enquiry”. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
