Africa is warming faster than the rest of the world, and it is the continent hit hardest. This is why adaptation matters so much on the continent.

When companies and institutions take real responsibility for their impact on the environment and on people, they make better decisions, manage risk with more clarity, and create lasting value. This is the essence of sustainability and ESG. Sustainability is tied to climate, but it reaches further, into how organisations are run, how they treat communities, and how they account for themselves.

We exist to help Africa navigate all of this. Our work spans four major streams: training, advisory, tech, and hands-on implementation.

We primarily work with three groups:

   Companies and public institutions, where we provide various services such as developing ESG strategies, climate risk assessments, guiding them on ESG risk mitigation actions they can implement for themselves and their portfolio clients, sustainability reporting, among many others.

2. 2

   Academic and research institutions, where we help build a generation of climate-literate students ready to work on real-world solutions even before they enter the job market, and support researchers advancing climate knowledge.

3. 3

   Governments, both national and local, where we help turn climate plans on paper into action on the ground.

fhionQ is led by a PhD student in Climate Change and Adaptation, which keeps our work current, rigorous, and evidence-based.
